Brand New Releases from Craft Stash

Hello Blogland.

Oh boy am I excited to share some brand new releases from
out today from the fabulous

These dies are so versatile and a must have for anyones die collection.
They are thin dies and you get a crisp clean cut every time.

So let me show you the dies I have been fortunate to work with.
I got the idea in my head to have the bird cage suspended (well that style of cage usually are right?) so I matted a card blank with my background paper then used a die to cut a large circle out in the center. I used the cut background paper on the inside of the card for a backdrop.
I then glued flowers in place to make a frame.
I cut the Bird Cage twice and glued together to make it nice and thick then used gilding wax in a brass tone for a gilded look.
Using 2 large bronze jump rings and poking a tiny hole in the top of the card I attached the cage to the card.

You have no idea how much I wished I had this die a while ago!
I love the simplicity in the design of it and as you can see the die cut mirror card stock easily.
The moment I saw this die in my package I just knew what I was going to do.
Make a wedding card (believe me this is not a theme of card I make often).
I wanted to keep this nice and simple.
I cut a piece of black cardstock slightly smaller than my base card and embossed it using an embossing folder.
I cut 2 wine glasses and glued those to the embossed card, I then glued 2 bows to the stems.
I then stamped the sentiment in versamark and brushed perfect pearls over it.
matted onto mirror card and glued this to the card.

Another nice and simple card using different technique.
I masked a border on a card base and brushed ink in different colours blending them into each other.
I then used a background stamp with versamark stamping all over. I then brushed perfect pearls to 'highlight' the design.
I cut the Happy Birthday in both black and white and offset them to give the illusion of shadow.
And that is it.

This die threw me completely so I was grateful to have been sent an embossing folder that matched it (no link for that at this moment).
I took some green cardstock cut to size to fit the folder and run through the machine.
I lightly smudged ink to emphasize the design.
I cut the Toucan in black and glued to some white and orange card and cut around to make him stand out a bit more.
Glued him onto the embossed card and matt and layered onto matching cardstock and card base.
I added a sentiment at the last moment which I thought finished the card brilliantly.
Not bad for going out of my comfort zone.

Hope you like the samples I have made,
if so leave me some comments below and then go check out the rest of the new releases.

Watch this space for further new releases.

New Release from Julia Spiri

Hi Blogland

I am excited to be able to share with you details about Julia Spiri's Brand new Colouring Book release.

From the Author: In this coloring book you will find lots of unique, whimsical characters from a gentle world of fantasy. There are 50 different images to color. Creating a character is a long creative process. Once an idea has formed in my mind I begin sketching, until I have a clear image that I am happy with and want to paint. Once this is complete I finish the final drawing with clean lines, sometimes using traditional pencil, and sometimes digital pencil. Creating so many characters for this book was a long process, but so much fun. I hope you enjoy coloring it as much as I enjoyed creating it. 50 Different Images printed on single-sided pages

You can find her Etsy Store Here

I was fortunate to be able to colour one of the brand new images available only in the book.

The image is name is 'Whimsical' isn't it just fab!
I used a mixture of Copics and Spectrum Noirs (some of my green copic pens ran out *sob*)

Glue Pen Holder

Hello Blogland.

Well that's Christmas 2016 over with, am now getting ready to see the new year in. Hope you all have had a yummy Christmas and was spoiled rotten.

I was very lucky to have been given a cordless rechargeable Glue Pen for Christmas and am in love with it already, can see it being my new go to tool, so I needed something to house it to keep it to hand but safe and secure.

Here is my solution
5" open topped box from Fernli
Bronze Filigree pieces from XCS
Black Gesso
Gilding Polish

As you can see it's a perfect fit!

A couple of Journal Pages

Hi Blogland.

This is just a quick post sharing some journal pages, well just because I can lol.

"If you obey all the rules you miss all the fun"

Move Ever Forward

I used my Dylusions paints for these backgrounds and various Tim Holtz stencils.
The butterflies were images I printed out.

Second GDT Project for XCS

Hello Blogland,

Time for me to share my second GDT Project for XCS

This time I altered a Fernli Tall Bird house.
The roof comes off so that it can be filled with treasures - Like Choccies.
I used my fave background technique - crumpled tissue paper - and covered the whole thing. gave it a coat of black gesso before using various colours of Gilding Polish.
For the feature on the front I used a chipboard heart, I filled the hollow with some pebeo fantasy paint but didn't like the way it turned out so covered it up with more gilding polish.
Once that was dry I then glued the Bronze Filigree heart flourish to the front and added extra bling.
For the charm dangle I used a selection of beads and bronze findings and added Tag Charm to the bottom.
To attach to the room I punched a small hole in the corner and used a jump ring to attach.

And there you have it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the GDT this month and hope to do so again in the future.

First GDT Project for XCS - Altered Book

Hello Blogland.

Today is a very exciting day cos I finally get to share my first GDT project made for Xanderous Crafty Stash.

The lovely Naomi posted for a GDT Call, I applied and was invited to be a GDT for December.
Of course I jumped at the chance and was sent some lovely bits and pieces to play with.

Here is my first project.

This is where I usually have my Recipe List, instead here are the step by step photos of how this came together.

Firstly I took the front and back covers off the A4 Sketch book (these are hard covers) and started adding texture.
For this I used molding paste, stencils, dry wall tape and some lace.
I then coated the whole thing (once dried) with Black Gesso.
This part is just using the front cover, I drew round the image I intended to use and added various sized cogs from Fernli Designs (these were coated in black gesso before being glued down).

Then came the fun bit - adding colour!!
For this I used Lindy's and Radiant Rain Mica Sprays and Perfect Pearls.
Then I simply added the image - which I coloured using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink - And all the Elements from XCS - these were gone over with Perfect Pearls to blend in slightly.
Once finished I simply reattached the covers to the book.

Here are the links to each element.

I cannot praise XCS enough, it's a fairly new business and is growing slowly but surely.
With more and more new things being added and great value for money you should really go check them out!!

If you enjoyed reading about this project please be kind and leave some love below in the comments.
